I stumbled upon perhaps the biggest breakthrough in the fight against global warming. A sexy, FAST 'Electric' sports car. Usually the words 'fast', 'electric car' and 'cool' are not three words you imagine going together in the same sentence. (I guess that's 4 words, eh.)However, Telsa Motors has come up with an Electric Sports car (Tesla Roadster) which is powered by a 3-phase, 4-pole AC induction motor and can go 130 mph and does 0-60 in about 4 seconds, all while totally silent. This car is so green and electric it doesn't even have a tailpipe! A bad-ass totally silent high-preformance sports car with zero emissions. Even will go 250 miles on a single charge.
However, don't get your hopes up quite yet for scoring one of these babies. They don't hit the streets till 2007 and will run you in about the $80,000 to $120,000 price range. OUCH!
